I am amazed again at the role that food plays in my life. We just spent three and a half days with my aunt and uncle in Massachusetts and the majority of our time spent as a full family was either in the kitchen, preparing meals or eating together at the dinner table.
One of the reasons I love food is the association it has with memory. The process of eating and smelling and tasting can help us remember so many things that have occurred in our lives. Proust wrote an entire book about this and all I can really do right now is mention how relaxing it is to sometimes just sit and relax with family and eat an occasional meal.
Pictures from the weekend:
Overnight french toast with strawberries and blueberries.
Over night french toast accompanied by scrambled eggs with love and smoked salmon as part of your complete easter brunch.

Rainbow trout with thyme and caramelized lemon over mixed vegetable faro risotto (inspired by the dish at L'Impero) with baby arugula and balsamic vinegard.

Salad of edible flowers and micro green with parmigiano, strawberries, almonds and a macadamia blood orange vinaigrette

Roasted oyster and pioppini mushroom salad with shaved asparagus and pistachios (I got the idea for a mushroom salad from Momofuku, this one turned out great)

Lynchhaven Chevre on toast with roasted baby beets and garlic gelee
